FCAS

New Fellows walk across the stage, individually, at the Celebration of New Members and receive a faux certificate.

On Monday morning, please arrive to Coronado H-J by 7:45 AM. Bring the index card with your name on it found in your badge envelope you received at the registration desk.  You will give this card to the announcer as you walk on stage. 

You may bring as many guests to the Celebration of New Members on Monday morning.  There is no costs for guests to attend the Celebration of New Members.  

A reception for new Fellows and one guest is held Monday evening.  There will be light refreshments and a chance to mingle with the CAS President, CAS Board Members, and other new Fellows. 

All new Fellows are provided two complimentary tickets, for you and one guest to attend your recognition reception on Monday evening.  Tickets will be included in your badge envelope.  

If you have additional guests that you would like to attend the FCAS reception, you may purchase additional tickets for the reception.  Tickets can be requested using the Spring Meeting Reception Ticket Form.  The CAS will invoice you for additional tickets.

All new Fellows will be in group pictures with the CAS President that are taken on Monday morning, immediately following the Celebration of New Members. These pictures will be published in the Actuarial Review.

New Fellows also have an opportunity to take an individual picture with the CAS President during the New Fellows Reception on Monday evening. Pictures are printed and available for you to pick up on Tuesday near the CAS Registration Desk.

No, all certificates are mailed to the primary address on your CAS record. Certificate should arrive 2-4 weeks after the meeting. If you do not receive your certificate inquire at office@casact.org.

ACAS

Sunday evening there is a New Associates reception for all new associates and one guest. There will be light refreshments and a chance to meet the other new Associates. The CAS President will welcome you to the CAS as a group before taking group photos.

Monday morning, all new Associates will stand as a group to be recognized in the Celebration of New Members session. Look for signs for new ACAS seating. Your guests are also invited to attend the Celebration of New Members session at no cost.

All new Associates are provided two complimentary tickets, for you and one guest to attend your recognition reception on Sunday evening. Tickets will be included in your badge envelope.

If you have additional guests that you would like to attend the ACAS reception, you may purchase additional tickets for the reception.  Tickets can be requested using the Spring Meeting Reception Ticket Form. The CAS will invoice you for additional tickets.

All new Associates will be in group pictures with the CAS President, and these photos are included in the next Actuarial Review issue.

General

Typically anywhere between 1,000 – 1,400 people attend the CAS Spring or Annual Meeting. On rare special occasions, like the CAS Centennial Celebration in 2014, attendance was over 2,000 people.

No, you need to register to attend the meeting, but you do not register for concurrent session. You simply choose which sessions you want to attend while you're at the meeting. Seating in each session is on a first come, first seated basis. See the Attending Your First CAS Meeting video.

You do need to register for roundtable sessions.
